Heidi Wendel, DVM, MPH
Meet the friendly staff at Apple Country Veterinary Hospital!
Dr. Heidi Wendel graduated from Hilton High School. She attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Public Health. She continued her veterinary education at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.
In 1998 she began working at Apple Country Veterinary Hospital as a kennel assistant and maintained employment throughout high-school and during college breaks. In 2010 she returned to Apple Country as a veterinarian. In December of 2014 she and Dr. Snyder opened Erie Canal Animal Hospital in Spencerport. Her professional interests include surgery, preventive medicine and ultrasound. She is certified in Fear Free Veterinary Practices. Dr. Wendel is a member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Outside of work she enjoys cooking, gardening and home renovation projects. She lives in Hilton with her husband, daughter and son. They have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Polly, a Boxer named Ivan and two cats, Prince Phillip and Frank.
